PLANNING AND PREPARATION FOR TOWER CRANE OPERATION
Learn how to assess the work area, review lift requirements, and plan tasks according to safety legislation. You’ll prepare lift plans and determine the right equipment for each job.
CONDUCTING ROUTINE CHECKS
Inspect and test tower crane components before use. You'll learn to carry out pre-operational checks and identify maintenance or safety issues before they become risks.
OPERATING THE CRANE
Master the controls under real-world conditions. You’ll gain the skills to lift, move, and place loads safely, with full awareness of crane limits, load charts, wind restrictions, and emergency shutdown procedures.
COMMUNICATING DURING LIFT OPERATIONS
Coordinate with your team using industry-standard hand signals, radios, and whistle commands. Clear communication is critical to safe and effective crane use, and we make sure you’ve got it dialled in.
HANDLING LOADS SAFELY
You'll learn how to lift and land loads precisely—minimising swing, slewing safely, and working with riggers to manage complex lifts. We focus on safety, balance, and compliance at every stage.
COMPLETING JOB DOCUMENTATION
From lift plans to pre-start records and safety reports, you’ll complete the documents needed for compliance and audits. You'll also learn how to report incidents and near-misses accurately.
