What is Dogging?

Dogging involves two key responsibilities:

• Safely slinging loads (choosing and attaching lifting gear)

• Directing crane operators during lifting operations via signals

What is Rigging?

Rigging builds on the skills learned in Dogging but goes further.
Rigging work includes:

• Installing structural steel

• Moving large plant and equipment

• Erecting precast concrete panels

There are three levels of Rigging Licences:

• Basic Rigging (RB) — simple rigging work

• Intermediate Rigging (RI) — more complex operations (e.g., cranes and hoists)

• Advanced Rigging (RA) — major structures, towers, bridges

Before applying for any Rigging course, you must already hold a Dogging Licence.
